Selecting The Right Artificial Grass

There are four things to know when selecting the right type of artificial turf for your intended usage.

Best use
indicates how heavy the traffic should be in the area where you plan on using the product you select.

Face weight
is the amount of material per square yard. Since there is more yarn in an 80-ounce piece of turf than a 36-ounce piece, you can expect the 80-ounce piece to feel sturdier.

Yarn type
refers to the material that comprises the turf. Most of our products are made of Polyethylene, a soft yet durable product, while our Ultra Nylon Putting Green Line is made of even more durable nylon fibers.

Blade height
refers to how tall the grass is or the length of individual blades. Carpet-like turf, such as our Ultra Nylon Putting Green line ranges from ¼” to ¾”, while Grass-like turf runs between 1″ and 2.5″ high.

Backing
is the material on the back of the turf. Usually made of a foam urethane, the backing provides a soft cushiony feeling when you walk on the artificial turf. Our Ultra Nylon Putting Green line has a plastic backing with drainage holes.
